She was born in Dunham Township, Washington County, Ohio, on January 17, 1916, the daughter of the late George M. and Sophia (Kinder) Prewett. Glynda retired from F. & R. Lazarus Department Store, downtown Columbus following 30 years of service. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Skip Lycan of Springfield, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, James P. and Brenda Slane of Delaware, Ohio; sister, Grace Haythorne of Parkersburg, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Matthew Lycan, Todd (Laura) Lycan, and Lora Lycan; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Earl Slane; a sister, Georgia Prewett; and a brother, Max Prewett. A celebration of Glynda's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the Rose Room at Oakwood Village with Chaplain Dale Hayes officiating.
