I have the same questions as to why Isaiah was living with his grandparents in 1850 and I have never found him at all in the 1860 census. What I have just found is where Isaiah is buried. Go to Internment.com and go to WV, then Wood Co, then Vaught Chapel Cemetery and you will find his name there. There are no dates there but I found his death certificate at wvculture.org/vrr under wood co. The date of death listed is Nov 30th of 1914. Anytime you find something on these people let me know. I would appreciate it. Isaiah Davis and Mary Harris would be my great-great-grandparents. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. To all my history/genealogy family & friends.... If by some chance anyone who has emailed me lately about history and/or genealogy and I have not replied to the email, please bear with me as I am trying to sort out all the emails that is in my inbox. As most of you know that I have been busy in trying to save all my work that once appeared on the LINKS website which is no longer there because Hometown AOL has closed its doors. Since then, with the help of Ernie Thode, my transcriptions are starting to appear on the Washington County Chapter, Ohio Genealogical Society's (WCCOGS) web site. http://www.washogs.org/ And I have "lots" more goodies to submit to Ernie for the site. As for now, I'm putting that on hold until November 24th. I've had lots of things to do in trying to deal with the sudden death of my brother and trying to cordinate things here as I prepare for his memorial service in Marietta. My grt grt grt Grandmother, Harriett COLES DAVIDSON was born abt 1815 in PA. Her marriage license in Washington Co, states she was single, and a resident of the county, when she married widower William Davidson in Jan 1841 in Aurelius Toiwnship. My problem is that I cannot find her family of origin, or where she herself may have been living (the 1840 census was only 6 months or so before their marriage). There were many members of a COLE family living nearer Marietta (Gravelbank), but they seem to have arrived there before her birth (1815, PA). There was also a Quaker COLES family originating from PA who lived in Guernsey Co. who also moved to Ohio before 1815, and she doesn't fit as one of their children, although one of their daughters did live in Aurelius T in 1840 (no space for Harriet in their home either) ?? Harriet's husband(d 1869) is buried beside his first wife, and Harriet (d 1876) is buried alone at Shafer Church Cemetery. I can find no other COLES family members in Washington County. Does anyone have any information on families with this surname/s, or ideas on how I might pull some bricks off this wall?? Any help would be REALLY appreciated. Linda in CA

This Aaron would seem to be a bit older than the one I am seeking in the query below (b. 30 MAR 1746 in Leicester, MA). If all of the dates are correct, he would have to have fathered this child at age 87 - not impossible, but not very likely either. Does anyone have any additional info on the Aaron & Mary A. I know that you've put alot into your work and into your pages at AOL. Having said that, I've read other "Thank you's" and they are thankful too. I've been telling people for years that AOL isn't American On Line but Always Off Line now after all their Free CD's cost, it's catching up to them and their having to cut some loses.
