    3. Several of my family in Marietta has the DVD. I acutally have both versions. I got my copies when I was in Marietta doing the workshops this past spring. The regular and the teacher edition. WOW! And it's the kind of documentary that you can watch over and over again. I think I've seen it at least 8-9 times. ha ha What's neat about the teacher addition is it has worksheets that go with each lesson, plus other activities. I've shared it with a couple of Middle School history teachers where I live in Pennsylvania. In 8th grade, they cover early American History, and have a couple of chapters about the Northwest Territory and the Indian Wars. The teachers here loved it. And what's soooooooooo neat, is that the students learned more from the DVD than listening to the teacher stand in front of the room and lecture, and/or just by reading it in the book. The DVD (both editions) are like having "hands on" learning. For those of you how have ancestors here...it takes you back in time and allows you to experience what life what "really" like for them back then. I purchased it a few weeks back and was just enthralled. I feel so much closer to all my "people" who settled in Washington County in it's first decade or two. Knowing more about the collective early history, hardships, hard work, and inspirations of those early settlers in a format other than bits and pieces from Internet information is a real gift. A gift you should think about for yourself or others. I am currently passing my DVD around to patrons of the Local History Center and my Legacy Users group. Even if your Washington County ancestors arrived later on this will still be very informative. 1. [OHWashin] Hey Everyone...I'm Back (lol) with some important info.
    2. Debbie Noland Nitsche
    3. Hey Everyone.... Just wanted to let you all know that I'm getting back into the swing of things. Geee....sure has been a longggggggggggggggggggg 2 months. Things are starting to return to normal because I'm keeping myself busy doing all sorts of things, not to mention the kids are always keeping me on the go. One of the neat things that happened while I was in Marietta, I went to visit Henry Burke. I always make sure I visit him when I'm in town. While I was there, he and his wife Annie, loaded my van with all kinds of "goodies" that Millie Covey Frye donated to the cause of helping others with the history of Washington County, Ohio. I was sooooooooooo happy to bring them back home. The van was cramped, but I was not about to leave Marietta without the goodies. lol I actually had to go out and buy another large bookshelf for all the books, newsletters, databases, etc... that she had left for me. I felt like a little kid on Christmas Day when I seen it all. I was so happy. The list of things that Millie gave me would be too long to go into detail with right now, but at the end of this email, I have listed just a few of the MANY "goodies" she left for me at Henry's house. Anyway..........Now that I'm back....I've been sorting though emails, some of which I have not had a chance to reply to yet, but I will soon. I also have several files ready to send to Ernie for him to upload on the Washington County Chapter of Ohio Genealogy Society (WCCOGS) website. Before I left, he did put some of it up. http://www.washogs.org/ The Marietta, Ohio MySpace has also been updated. http://www.myspace.com/historicalmariettaohio Several new things have been added, such as the history of McClure-Shafer-Lankford Funeral Home (1892-present); info about travel and tourism; book: Escape of Jane; Biography of Claude Davis; "lots" more photos, and this one photo (and info) of JOHN WESLEY BOWERS, of the 77th OVI, plus some military info on his brothers.
