    3. Subject: Help! Government Run Program During the 1930's early '40's. Has anyone ever heard of a "3 C Camp" based in or around Marietta, Ohio during the 1930's or early '40's? '3 C' was a gov program - run by the state for jobs/where people could find work. My uncle Dean Johnson (Johnston) supposedly joined at the age of 16 yrs. and was in it until he left for the war during WWII.

    1. Re: [OHWashin] Washington County Cemeteries
    2. Debbie Noland Nitsche
    3. Doris... There were quite a few early cemeteries that was in existence in Washington County during 1814. Keep in mind that Washington County was the first and the biggest county in the state of Ohio during the early years, including 1814. Do you know what township your ancestor was in when he died? If you don't know, then do you know if he lived in Washington County during the 1810 census. That may provide a clue as to what township cemetery your ancestor could be buried. If not in Washington Co. during 1810...did he own any land between the years of 1810-1814? Land Grants or deeds may also provide a CLUE as to what township he's buried in. Here is the url to the Washington County, Ohio Historical Society's Cemetery Index. This may help. Not all cemeteries are listed, but I would say about 85-90% are on the Cemetery Index. (Maybe a little more or less than that) http://www.wchs-ohio.org/cem_index.htm If you can provide the name of your ancestor someone may be able to help you locate what cemetery your ancestor is buried. Another place to keep in mind is the cemeteries in West Virginia that boarders Washington County, Ohio, which is seperated by the Ohio River. 1. [OHWashin] Marriage record for Sylvester McCullick and Mary Ascane Maple
    2. Valerie
    3. Hello to all, I'm trying to piece something together. I have Mary Ascane Maple as b. 09 Sep 1867, Jackson County, WV according to her obit in the Marietta Times. However, according to the 1870 Battelle, Monongalia, WV census, she is in her father's home - John P. Maple - and she is listed as being born in PA. Someone provided me with a marriage record for Mary and Sylvester McCullick - m. 03 Dec 1893 - from "Washington County, Ohio Marriage Records", Volume 10, Pg. 1229. Does anyone have access to this record to see if it confirms WV or PA as Mary's place of birth? Thanks, Valerie

    3. Hello All,   I am looking for information on the STORY Family that may have come to Washington Co in possibly 1789 and settled in Waterford?   There are several apparent family members buried at Round Bottom Cemetery. I'll just name a few.   Andrew Story d. 1823 Molly Story d.1845  These two are husband and wife Michael Story d.1841 Charles Story d1849 Betsey Story d.1848 Relief Story Brown d 1816   Many of the same names are listed on page 136  in the Graham & Cottle Abstract of Wills estates Probate Records Book.   Is this the same family of the Andrew Story on page 531 of the HZ Williams History of Washington County that spent the war in the garrison at Fort Frye..."Andrew Story, wife and five children..."?   Is this the same Andrew Story that is listed on the plaque near the Round Bottom Cemetery and School House?   I'd be so happy to hear from anyone who has knowledge of this family and their relationships and history.    Thank you in advance,   Carolyn Sacramento
