Your James B. Johnson and my William Johnson (Jr.) were brothers, both being sons of William Johnson (Sr.). I am sending you a link (http://content.ancestry.com/browse/default.aspx?dbid=1205&iid=USAOTH2007MAP_144563-00004) to a plat map of Decatur Township from around the mid 1800's. [If you are not a member of ancestry.com, you can get a 14 day trial period and access the link. Just remember to cancel after about 12 days or they'll charge you!] The Johnsons seem to have settled in the southeast corner of the township, near the Little Hocking River, as you said. In Section 3, there is land owned by "Wm Johnson," "Worthy Johnson," "J[ames?] Johnson," "Heirs of A Johnson," and "T Place." There is also a smaller plat of land owned by "Wm Johnson" in Section 13. I am guessing that the larger parcel of land in Section 3 was owned by William (Sr.) and the smaller parcel in Section 13 by William (Jr.), but its only a guess. I seem to have hit a wall with William Johnson (Sr). I know he was born in Pennsylvania, but I don't know where, and I don't know what his father's name was. Thanks again for your response. Hope this information helps you with your research. Monty Johnson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. You can see his family in the 1870 Census at the pilot site of familysearch. If you search http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0 in 1870 he is listed as born in 1821 and he is second down, you won't see the Lawrence Washington Co until you click the image. I keep thinking if I can find the death of one of the children the cemetery might match for James. 2. My only question to the State of Ohio and the Ohio Historical is "why would you close the museum in Ohio where it all began". This was the beginning and birthplace of Ohio. Heritage is the defining elements of one’s life that tells who they are and how they should live. Heritage then is the profile of our values, priorities and beliefs and rules we are guided by in our daily lives. Our Heritage begins in the life experiences of our ancestors and we will pass them on to our descendents, long after we are gone. Collectively, the heritage of a society gives rise to its culture.
