I'm still trying to get ahold of Paul Lien to ask about the Foundation .He also stole a map once from the Vault in tallahasse when we were there doing research I did'nt know anything about it untill the man that let us into the vault asked me about it. it turned up years later some where. Him and a buddy of his went to a site making believe they were me and a friend of mine who had made an appointment to go there and Jim got wind of it and went a few days earlier and told the owners that they were us. On and on it goes. Lots of things keep popping up in my mind. Let me know the URl of the site I'd be glad to look at it ,up to you. " This is NOT, I repeat, NOT a fake message and I have the e-mail correspondence to prove it. I was shocked at the content, but these former colleagues of his know him better than I do. Author: tfoenander Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.washington/1580.4.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Actually, there have been more distressing episodes of late. The major one was that this same person, Gray, was actually passing around a document that had been altered, and which he claimed was genuine. It was a Confederate compiled military service record card, which had the fake inscription "Australian soldier" written on it. What was even worse was that he used that document to obtain a grave marker for the Australian born person, named Robert Farmer, whom he had been trying to claim was a Confederate soldier, for several years. Then he managed to get this fake document, and passed it around as genuine. I was able to spot, immediately that it had been altered, due to the two different handwritten inscriptions shown on it, but, by then, it was too late, as the Veterans Administration grave marker had been obtained, although we were able to prevent it from being installed. I have been trying to warn many persons that Gray has been indulging in such practises for years, and even from the 1970's when he resided in Florida, but nothing was done to stop his activities. Now, with the fact that he was using this fake document, and other recently discovered fabrications, including changing the name of his own great grandfather, just so that he could claim to be a "direct" descendant of a Confederate veteran, we have been also able to find out that his fabrications have not been confined just to Australia, but also included his residency in Florida. To see the entire sequence of events, regarding the Robert Farmer episode, including the altered document, go to Ms Amy Hedrick's web site at http://www.glynngen.com/history/people/farmer1/ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Thanks for the spam-type tips, but I have a GEEK hubby who has well-schooled me in the ways of killing viruses and spam. I'm very good at putting new spams into my blocked list, and from then on out they go to my junk folder. If I didn't, my hubby would read me the riot act! LOL. He's also not too understanding of people who wander websites, paying no mind to the digital trail they leave behind. I know I've found good info on GenWeb, or at least had hours of interesting fun reading, and I hope they're here to stay as well. And as good as this new site sounds, I'll have to check it out too. We have successfully fought off any attempts to change it. If you are aware of any part of the Project that is charging for access for any materials that the coordinators have provided or that has been donated to the Project by anyone, please forward the information and proof of this to me so that appropriate action may be taken to swiftly correct any violation.
