BOY>>>>>>> It's good to be back online after nearly 2 weeks without the Internet. I have missed hearing from you all on the Washing Co. List. :o) Anyway............. I just purchased from Ebay a pic of Lucetta B. Sprague. The pic was taken circa 1907 when Lucetta was 80 yrs. old. She was the wife of Col. William Bion Mason of the 77th OVI. To view the picture, visit my webpage at: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/n/i/t/Debra-Nitsche/ It's near the bottom of the FAMILY PHOTOS SECTION. For anyone researching the SPRAGUE and/or MASON lines, feel free to save this photo for your files. :o) DEBBIE

Yes, I'm glad I have a hard copy of the book. After reading it, I thought to myself, "WOW! Wouldn't it be nice if others could read this story?" But, because of copyright laws, I couldn't share the book on line. As I was setting at the computer, I went to google.com and typed in the title of the book, then, BINGO there it was. It's nice that Henry puplished an online version. Now, anyone can read the same book, only they cannot copy or print it out. Debbie Noland Nitsche Philadelphia, PA. I just bought a book off of Ebay, not knowing it was already published online, called THE ESCAPE OF JANE by Henry Burke. It's about a runaway slave from the Harris Plantation in Wood Co. Virginia (now WV) across the Ohio River into Washington Co., and her different stops at several Underground Railroad Stations in Wash. Co. Before I read the book, I didn't know that Julius Deming (husband of Mary Ann Deming) helped in the escape of slaves. Mary Ann Deming is the dau. of Ezekial and Hannah Parke Deming. Other Washington Co. surnames are mentioned in the book too. I found the book to be VERY INTERESTING AND EDUCATIONAL. You might want to read it too. Will; Seems like we are always connecting the same lines. ha ha I am not directly descended from the Webster line, but here is what I do know about them, since Andrew Webster was once married to Sybil Coburn. Sybil is the sister of Susannah who married William Bond Mason. They are the daus. of Major Asa Coburn and Mary McClure. As you can tell, I have about as much info on them as you do, but every once in a while, I get on a roll and start digging, then give up because they ARE a hard bunch to trace. I will see what else info I can find on them. Here goes: Generation No. 1 1. ANDREW1 WEBSTER He married (1) SIBYL COBURN November 24, 1784 in Sturbridge, Worchester Co., MA, daughter of ASA COBURN and MARY MCCLURE. She was born June 22, 1762 in Strubridge, Worchester, MA, and died Bef. 1788 in Massachusetts. He married (2) SALLY BROWN April 03, 1794 in By Thoms. White, JP Washington County, Ohio. Andrew was one of the 2nd set of pioneers of the Ohio Company to settle in Marietta, Ohio, August 1778. Marriage Notes for ANDREW WEBSTER and SALLY BROWN: Genealogical Records: Early Ohio Settlers, 1700s-1900s Ohio Marriages, Surnames, W-X, Page 331 Children of ANDREW WEBSTER and SIBYL COBURN are: i. I just recently upgraded my Family Tree Maker from 8.0 to the 10 version. Several CD's from Genealogy.com came with it. As I was browsing the CD's just to see what goodies I could find, I came across this: Local and Family Histories: New England, 1600-1900s -History of Ellenwood -- Wharton and 20 Allied Families 1620-1968. In the section, I found the following. Irvine Family Descendants Washington County, Ohio If anyone is researching this name, I would be more than happy to put this in a file for you and send it via email. It has a lot of information on it. Debbie Noland Nitsche Philadelphia, PA.
