Go to RAOGK, the volunteer for Washington Co has access to a great index for Obits. It isn't published nor seems likely to be in the future but with luck the volunteer will be able to find them for you <G> www.raogk.org Eliz On Fri, Oct 8, 2010 at 10:32 PM, <PATROBISON@aol.com> wrote: > Thanks. > > I have a Sarah Jane Myers who married a William Purnel Cox. > They had a child AnnArah Cox b. 24 Oct 1868 in Liberty Township, Wash. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Jude or Judi Tracewell which was taken at the J. D. Cadwallander Studio in Marietta, Ohio or Parkersburg, West Virginia. The photograph is dated Oct 1st 1884 with the young woman in the photograph appearing to be in her teens at the time it was taken. I am hoping to locate someone from her family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Thanks. I have a Sarah Jane Myers who married a William Purnel Cox. They had a child AnnArah Cox b. 24 Oct 1868 in Liberty Township, Wash. Co., OH I found her birth certificate in Marrieta, OH but have never been able to find this family in any census or in any location prior to 1880 when I found them in Marion County, WV. Sarah Jane's parents were William MYERS and Mary Susannah Walker. MARY MYERS Many of their children - Elizabeth Myers Koon; James d. 04 Apr 1894; David d. 15 Mar 1905; William, Jr. d. 16 Dec 1867; Morgan Tucker d. 13 Jun 1911: are all buried in Liberty Township. Again we copied this info when we were at either the Marietta Library or the Marietta Courthouse. There is a younger sister Susannah (Myers) that married a William Mossburg. I have no record of her death but would like to find here obituary. She died Feb 19, 1932. I did find the Myers in Monongalia County in the 1850 Census 1850 Census, Monongalia County, VA William Myers, 45, Farmer, VA Susanna, 37, VA MARY SUSANNA WALKER MYERS Elizabeth A., 19, VA John, 16, Farmer, VA Jonathan, 14, VA Sarah J., 10, VA James, 10, VA David, 6, VA William, 4, VA Morgan, 2, VA But the William and Mary Myers family and the William and Sarah Jane Myers Cox family both seem to disappear in 1860 and 1870 census. I am hoping if I find some obits for William Myers,,Mary Myers, Susanna Mossburg there may be some clues that give me some new research paths. I do know that Sarah Jane Myers Cox died in Parkersburg and I have her obit, 1923. I also know that William Pernal Cox died in Marion County and I have his obit., 1900. But they gave no clues, I think they were probably to late to provide any specific details. Pat In a message dated 10/8/2010 8:53:59 P.M. Could someone please help me with a book and records of births? Somewhere, either in Salt Lake City or Marietta Library I copied an Index to Birth Records From Probate Reocrds, Washinton County Court House, Marietta, OH., Volume I (1867- 1872). Call number 977.198/M1 V22V What I copied seems to be the All Name Index and I also copied the Cover Map to Washington County, Ohio which is all well and good. I have records I copied at the Marietta Court House for a Ann Arah Cox, parents Wm P & Sarah J Cox. But I can not find any papers where I copied anything for - Sarah Myers, 308-309 Susanna(h) Myers 118-119,306-307 Myres (son) 24-25 Myres, Wm 24-25 Now my worse nightmare is that I do not know if these numbers are page numbers from the book or if they are page or volume numbers in the court house book records. No, I did not copy the information page which would give me this information. If someone has access to the book or access to these birth records from the court house I would appreciate some help. Thanks. Pat Fairview, TX

I came across a very poor photograph of possibly a scroll? and on the back it said, "Roll of Honor (Some detail (?) Andrew Unger Roll of Honor Civil War" Can anyone tell me if these were paper scrolls? this could have been shot behind glass, there seems to be glare and over-exposure. I would love to find a copy of it, or at least a similar one, if anyone has one they can send a picture of. Nancy

I seem to recall that a great grandfather, or great-great grandfather who lived in Washington Co., referred to a "Tick Ridge" in his writings, implying that it was appropriately named. This would have been, probably in or around Coal Run. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <OHWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 27, 2010 7:25 PM Subject: [OHWashin] Lick Ridge > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: kimmierue > Surnames: Sutton, Boudinot > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.washington/1751/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I've come across some information that my gggreatgrandmother Susan Sutton > Boudinot died "at Lick Ridge" in Washington County, Ohio 1823.
