    3. Thanks for the reply and yes you indeed did provide me with some very good data on my Skeen line. I am currently fine tuning that data along with my other data and hope to have my book updated within a year. Your are quoted in many places. So thanks again. Debbie While I do not have what you specifically asked for I am in possession of the Wash., Co., internal 1880 and others, census and in it you will find Ann Lippencott (Lipincott) mother of Alfred Lippencott. Also in 1880 you will find Albert Lippencott about 4 years old. It gives me a thrill to at last see my grandfather's origins online. Good luck in your transcribing and your wonderful work. 3. Rick, Just sent a reply to the list, but forgot to add that these Clarks aren't related to my family as far as I know. The only mentions of Abe, Hannah and Granny are those I previously sent. There is a mention of Lize Clark on July 22, 1864: "...I went over to Jimeys after Tom horse. Alice Gall came after butter for Lize Clark & I sold 4 lbs & a quarter to the black smith today..." 3. That's the History of Washington County 1788-1881 published by H.Z. Williams. My book is "Bluecoats, Boats & Light Bread, the 1862-64 Diaries of Ann Bartlett of Little Hocking, Ohio." It's an 88-page paperback (8.5x11) containing transcriptions of four diaries kept by my great-aunt (her married name was Dalzell) when she was a teenager, detailing her daily life. Her parents kept a boarding house in L.H. Her father, older brothers and other relatives had boats on the Ohio and also built boats, including the schooner Mary Belle Roberts, the last sea-going vessel built in Washington Co. I also included letters dating from the Civil War years to 1920, along with Aunt Ann's list of births, deaths and marriages, some 1860 census records for the village, genealogy charts, 21 pictures, a narrative history of the Bartletts and related families, information on the later lives of people prominently mentioned in the diaries and letters, and an index of 600-place names of people, places and boats. If you want a copy, e-mail me for info at sam4@fyi.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "rick.springer" <rick.springer@sbcglobal.net> To: <OHWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2003 6:50 PM Subject: [OHWASH] Re: Shelby's Clark death posting > Shelby, > > I am very interested in this book you mention. 3. Shelby, I am very interested in this book you mention. All three of those Clarks you mention - Abe, Hannah and Granny - are related to me. Abe and Granny are my direct ancestors! I am a little lost - I think I missed one of the posts. Can you give me more information about the book and if it is available? I am also interested in the Williams book you mention. Is this from the Williams family? In the above Clark's "Granny" is Letitia Williams Clark. Any connection? Thanks! 3. Hi, Checked my book and found no Adams or Beckwith, and no Jephta or Anna Clark. In an 1864 entry, she mentions Lize (probably Elizabeth) Clark, apparently a neighbor in Little Hocking. In her list of deaths are: Abe Clark died April 4, 1882 Hannah Clark died May 28, 1882 Grany (maybe Granny?) Clark died Sept. 11, 1882 There were several Clark families in Belpre Township, including my gr grandmother Sarah Clark Bartlett. Her father was Jonas and grandfather was Jacob. Her Clarks apparently came from New Jersey and Pa. with families named Sanders and Rutan. Let me know if this is your Clark line. Aunt Ann also mentions several people named Barnes. They include Cord (or Card), Emily, John, Mercy, Milley and "Miss" (by which she means Mrs.) Barnes. All these were in the 1863-64 entries. Let me know if you want details. Have you checked Williams' Washington Co. History? I have a copy. 3. I love diaries, too. I got my Aunt Ann's diaries, letters and family pictures from my uncle who inherited them and had them stashed in boxes in his garage for years. From them, I learned about family members no one had ever heard about, including my 90-some-year-old uncle. I transcribed them, researched the names as best I could and put them together with a narrative family history. I had the book in a couple stores back home for a while and have some copies left. If you're interested, e-mail me at sam4@fyi.net Now I'm transcribing my grandfather's (Joe Miller of Little Hocking, Decatur and Webster Co., WVa.) journals as time allows. Glad to do lookups and I'm always looking for leads on family branches.
