Hi Debbie, Thanks for the Welcome. It's funny that I just sent an email to you personally not knowing you had already written to me! I saw on the Washington Co. website that you had a lot of good books for lookups. Hope you have some success for me. This Thomas Turner ancestor has been a brick wall for me for about 5 years. Hope I'm about to knock it down! Thanks, Pam in Louisiana Debbie Noland Nitsche <Diamonddeb@comcast.net> wrote: Hi Pam Welcome to the Wash. Co. List. Does anyone on list have an connections to the Temprance Colt Lord who married Truman Ransom? Truman was a son of Theophilus Ransom and either Sarah Bryant or Mindwell Noyes, from the History of Knox Co we get " He there married Miss Temperance, daughter of' Thomas Lord, whose grandmother was a daughter of' Col. Oliver" She was a distant Cousin of the rest of my LORDS and BUCHANANS and I would like to be able to trace her. Eliz

Brian, I did find the pages that you asked about. The referenced pages are excerpts from a daily journal of a local doctor, and primarily list medical complaints, treatments and fees for his patients. Much more importantly, after some consideration, I don't believe that this is your J.J. (John Jarvis) Parker. I'm almost certain this is Joseph Jones Parker, from what I believe is an unrelated Parker branch. Will be in touch over the weekend with some of the particulars, and other findings. Kim

Hi Joyce, My Thomas Allison was born 1823. He married Mary Smith about 1843. Unfortunately, I know nothing about Mary. Their children were John Allison (b 1844), Alexander Bailey Allison (b 5 Dec 1845), and Mary Palleen Allison (b 30 Apr 1846). Thomas then married Rebecca Goddard in 1849. They had Bell Allison, Virginia Allison and Keziah J Allison. I hope this information helps you. Marian
I only know names of the children of Robert James Smith and Emma Adelia Jones. You would have to give me more info, such as birth date and where born, did she have any siblings, etc. Joyce ----- Original Message ----- From: <LADYMWPV@aol.com> To: <OHWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2003 5:29 PM Subject: Re: [OHWASH] Dr. Charles H. Depending on where they lived in the township they could've been buried in Indpendence Twp or Ludlow Twp or try the Brownsville area of Monroe Co.
Sorry there are no Stackhouse listed for Grandview Township
Not much help but there is an umarked grave beside Albert J Hutchison on Parr Hill. And there is a Gladys Hutchison buried in the New Matamoras Cemetery but no dates are given.
Thanks, I'll find her somewhere. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Seekerofhistory@aol.com> To: <OHWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2003 8:01 PM Subject: Re: [OHWASH] Fairview Cemetery on Parr Hill > Sorry there are no Stackhouse listed for Grandview Township > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >
Do you have a list of the burials at New Matamoras Cemetery? I am looking for Louisa Stackhouse. Last information I have on her she was living in New Matamoras during the 1880 census, with her children, Nicholas 16, Jennie 14, and Harry 10. I have not found a death date for her or where she is buried. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me. Hi Joyce, I am trying to find a Mary Smith who married Thomas Allison in this area. Do you know if this is the Mary, daughter of Robert and Emma Smith? Marian
I have a bunch of Smith ancestors from Brooke Co. WVA, which is just east of Jefferson Co. OH in the northern tip of WVA betw. Ohio & PA. Who do you think is Charles Sr's father? We have a Robert James Smith who was b. c1822 in Brooke Co. WVA, he married Emma Adelia Jones, they had children: Flora, *Charles, Roberta, Catherine, Mary, Della and William. What interested me was that Robert James Smith's father was Edward (Dr. Eddie) Smith a medical doctor. I'm waiting to hear back from another Smith researcher. A follow-on question. Now that I have found where Wilson and Clara Sole are buried, I also see that their son-in-law Albert J. Hutchison is also buried in Parr Hill Cemetery. Their daughter Gladys Marie Sole, b. abt. 1901 married Albert. And in fact, Clara lived with her daughter & son-in-law; not certain but it may have been on Wilson & Clara's farm. Does anyone know anything about Gladys? I'm doubtful that she would be living (102), but I cannot find her listed in Ohio Death Certs or SSDI. Albert died in 1971. Thanks, Gene Huffman
Hi, I haven't forgotten you. Just started looking for Maggie Rawson. So far I have a Margaret b. Nov. 20, 1865 d. Apr. 16, 1866. This is in the descendants of Lewis Rawson. There are several branches and that is how the book is indexed. I will go through each one. I have seen the COE surname in the index and will see what that turns up. BTW, the authors - researchers - Geraldine Sommerville and Oma H. Mills. According to the book, Oma Hendricks Mills was d. of Henry Hilbert and Cora Elizabeth RAWSON Mills. She lived with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Thomas RAWSON until school age. After her marriage to Clark Mills, they resided at Elizabeth, WV. (m. 09-12-1930). They both graduated from Wirt County High School, Elizabeth, WV. " This would lead me to believe that your Maggie is related. Clark was sheriff of Wirt County and Oma was a teacher and has many orginizations listed. They moved to Belpr in 1953. Linda in Virginia
