Does anyone know who Clem Beagle's parents were? I found this obit on ancestry.com. I am SURE he is linked somehow to my Catherine Beagle, who married Daniel/David Farnsworth. Catharine and Daniel's son, Amirah Jackson Farnsworh (my gr. grandfather)and was also born in New Matamoras. Catherine is the dau of Thomas Beegle/Beagle and Annie Harrow. CLEM BEAGLE Services for Clem Beagle, 74, who died suddenly Monday morning in his home, 217 Broadway, will be held tonight at 8 in the Martin Funeral Home by Capt. Loyd Stephan of the Salvation Army. The body will be taken to his former home in New Matamoras for burial Thursday. Beagle was born in New Matamoras and came here 10 years ago. He was a construction worker for the Newell Bridge Co. before his retirement. He was a member of the Center Valley Baptist Church at New Matamoras and the Eagles and Moose Lodges. He leaves three sons, Clyde Beagle and Donald Beagle of East Liverpool. Clifford Beagle in the M. S. Veterans Hospital at Aspinwall; two daughters, Hazel Beagle and Mrs. Violet Farnsworth of East Liverpool: five brothers, Oza Beagle and Ada Beagle of New Matamoras, Charles Beagle of Newport and Harry Beagle and Robert Beagle of East Liverpool; three sisters, Mrs. Rena Beaver of Vienna, W. Seeking info on three Chapman brothers (William, Joseph and James) who lived in Independence Township, Washington Co, OH, sons of George Chapman, jr and Nancy Chapman Chapman of Brooke County, VA/WV. William purchased land on Reas Run in Washington County in 1838 from Samuel Beck. William Chapman, born 1813, died 1865, Washington County; Joseph Chapman, born 1823, died 1906, Washington County (both William and Joseph are buried in the Goodman-Chapman Cemetery in Washington County). James Chapman, born 1826, died probably Noble County between 1855 and 1860. These brothers are descended from Chapmans who emigrated to America from Ireland about late 1730s or early 1740s. The early Chapmans settled in Marcus Hook, PA; Frederick Co, VA; Berkeley Co, VA/WV; and Brooke Co, VA/WV. I am especially interested in William Chapman, my Great-Grandfather. William was married to Sarah Truax, born 1820 in Ohio (I have no data on her origins!) Their children were: John Henry, George W., Vivian Benjamin (male), James W., Mary Elizabeth (married McKeen), Virginia, Frank and Hattie (married Anderson). And, no, this Chapman family is not related to the Johnny Appleseed 'branch' of the Chapmans. (I'm often asked that!) Thank you for any assistance. Pat Pulasky

Shelby; Thanks for the correction to the list, however that is the way that the author wrote it up in his book. I rechecked it just in case it was me that made the mistake. I checked William's history, and it is listed as Truman Haze also. The same kind of misspelling for my gg grandfather Ezra Mankins, has him listed as Mankin. He was also in the 148th OVI, but in Company K. Ezra's uncle, Franklin inlisted in Dunham Twp. and was in the same company (H) as your Truman. William's History lists him as Francis F. Mankin. His correct name is Francis Franklin Mankins, aka Franklin.
