Author: monty_j_2000 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.washington/1771/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for information on William Johnson, who was in Belpre Township in the early 1800s. His wife,Roianna (Roena) died Sep 1, 1801 and is buried in the Cedarville Cemetery, along with John Johnson, presumably her son, who died March 14, 1821 at age 67. I am trying to connect John to William Johnson, Sr. (born July 5, 1786 in Pennsylvania), who lived in Decatur Township in 1820. Does anyone have any information on them? In addition to trying to establish the connection, I would also like to know when and where the older William died and who John's wife was. Any help will be much appreciated. If so, what could you find on a Harmon family? My husband is the gt grandson of King Emmanuel Harmon b 11 Aug 1841 in Ohio, some information says Noble Co., and Morgan Co., and now I find some reference to Washington Co., d 1912 in Oklahoma. On the death cert. I have it states his father being John Harmon. My big question is,,who was John Harmon's father? I have some information stating, Conrad Harmon or Boston Harmon, but in checking of the children born to these 2 men, I do find a John, but the birth dates don't match for having a child in 1841. I am very confused. Can you help me in any way? Thanking you in advance, look forward to a reply from you. Again, thanks. Author: jjobr Surnames: Magee, Hoff Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.washington/1723.3.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Monty-I came across your Washington county query about all your efforts doing research. Very awesome! Your reply sparked my interest in that you talked about researching early settlers of Washington County. So...I was wondering if you could assist me in my research of my early settler. I am not having much luck on my own. His name was Felix Magee (this is how it is spelled on his court paperwork)-he immigrated from Ireland to Quebec in 1819-then on to Lewistown, New York finally arriving in Washington County between 1819 and 1822. I have a copy of the Intention of Declaration to become a Citizen from the Washington County Courthouse. He settled in Salem Township-he died Aug. 18, 1873 of the age of 107. He is buried in Good Hope Cemetery-Lowell. We was a farmer. What I need help with are his early years. Did he have family here-lots of early Magees-maybe that's why he chose Washington County area. I wonder where he was before he came to Wash. Co.en-route from New York.I have found his name listed in Williams History of Wash. Co., Ohio-page 589-upper right column as a first family. Hope to hear from you soon or from anyone who knows of this name for that matter. Felix married Eve Hoff-lots of Hoffs in Wash. Co. as well-so I have nothing on her. Children: William, John, James and I believe a dtr., Nancy. Thank you in advance for any light you may be able to shed on my gggg grandfather. It was a lot of work, very tedious at times, but also extremely rewarding and instructive. I learned a lot about the early settlers of Washington County and about its history. It also gave me a chance to "pay forward" for all of the assistance I have gotten in my research from various people over the years.
