I spoke to my grandmother today and she told me the same thing, there were three boys Henry the oldest then Clarence then her father Dorus. She said she always heard them talk about him and when she was old enough to ask, her father said he just left.."there one day gone the next" never to be heard from again. I can not find a Henry..anywhere. Of course I will never be able to see the 1890 census because they burned in washington D.C.( bad news from a historian today). I wish I lived closer to washington county so I could go dig around, love a mystery! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There is a 1910 census with August as head of house and there are four children. I can not find any records of a 1890 or 1900 census for them in Washington County. I do know that August and Mary had many children and I assume this Henry was born and and left during the missing 20 plus years. 3. Dan or Daniel was the son of Elijah Pond and Lois Tuttle.  Elijah died in 1811 and Lois remairred Robert Bradford.  I think Daniel was born in Rutland Co., VT prior to the family moving to Washingtion Co., in 1801 but I am not sure. Dan would have been born between 1790 and 1810. Hope this helps. John Hi List, I am looking for any reference to Dan or Daniel Pond who lived in Washington Co., from 1800 to 1840. His father was Elijah Pond.? Dan could have been born in VT or Washington Co. Elijah doesn't show up in the 1820 Census, how old was Dan and do you know the mothers name? I thought maybe Dan was maybe in a stepfathers household. Going thru the rest of the 1830 etc most Dan* Pond are born in VT ] Eliz
