My Greatgrandfather, Jesse Alfred Shaw, was reportedly born in Ohio around 1810 and later moved to Indiana where he married and raised a family. He married in 1834 in Franklin county, IN and lived with his family in Hancock County in 1850. Circumstantial evidence would lead me to believe he is the Jesse Shaw born in Warren County, OH in Sept 1810 to Patrick Shaw and Hester Sewell. Patrick's father, John Shaw had been a very early settler in Lebanaon Ohio. Hester Sewell Shaw died in 1817 and, through Patrick remarried two years later, it is unclear what happened to the young children in the family. Many of Patrick's brothers had moved on to Indiana.
