    1. Re: OHWARREN-D Digest V01 #13
    2. I am descended from Thomas and Eve Smith who were both born in NY. They came to Warren County ca 1819, with five of their children and the other four children were born in OH. Children are: Maria Ann (William Lundy); Henry (Hannah Crosson, 2. Susan M. Daily; 3rd. Sarah Foryce); William (Hannah Scoonover); Margaret (John Hampton); John (1st Nancy Hogan, 2nd Lydia Elmar Gillis) and all these children were born in New York; Rachel (John M. Whitacre); Deborah (Henry Kliperd); Thomas (Elizabeth Stout ???) and Ruth who was born 13 Jun 1832 and died 24 Dec 1834. These last four were born in Ohio. Thomas and Eve Smith are buried in Edwardsville Cemetery as are some of their children. John Smith and several of his family are also buried there as is Henry's first wife Hannah Crosson Smith (my 3rd great-grandparents); Maria and Margaret and members of their families are also buried in Edwardsville. Deborah is buried in Pleasant Cemetery. Henry and his second wife moved to Jay County, IN and it is not known if Rachel and her family moved to Indiana. I don't know where William and Thomas moved to after the 1860 census. Henry left Ohio ca 1864 and moved to Jay County, IN. The Smith Family were members of the Quaker faith and can be found in the Quaker Records. They later split and became Hicksites (?). Henry and his second wife are buried in the Hillside Cemetery (Old Quaker Cemetery) in Pennville, Jay County, IN. If anyone has Smiths who came from New York I would be interested in knowing what county they came from. I have not done any New York research todate, but will in the future. Darlene
