Thank you to all who responded about dates for records. I had a few pages xeroxed from the Handy Book-must have looked at wrong state-in a hurry. Now, does anyone know if there is a book of marriage records, transcribed, including index for both brides and grooms? I have been trying to work with their microfilm of the original book but it is awful. Some people in index don't seem to be included in actual record, or maybe they didn't film it all. No brides index, etc. The index portion doesn't give marriage date, so is no help unless you can locate the couple further back. Thanks. The records from that point on are usually more complete, giving you much more information. Genealogy Society), "the Probate Court Archives has marriage records [1803 to present], records of wills and estates [1800 to present], and birth and death records [1867 thru 1908]." The Health Dept. @ 416 S. East St. has birth and death records from 1909. Last time I was down in Warren county, these public entities related to genealogy were kind of scattered around, as probate court archives is evidently going to move into the new courthouse on Justice Dr., whenever construction is completed. (I don't know when that is; shouldn't be too long, though.) And last time I was down (the year before last), Probate Court archives was temporarily housed in the basement of one of the public administration buildings on Justice Drive.
