I am not sure that all of the aobve families lived in German Tp., but they were close enough to know each other. I have a problem with who married who! See if you could help me. There are two COLEMANS I am concerned about: Phillip and John, they may have been brothers. They both married Nancys. Stay tuned it gets better! Both married about 1830-1832. Phillip Coleman married Nancy HORN. I believe that he moved to Perry Co. but I am not certain of that. John Coleman married Nancy PROUD and I think that they went to Perry Co also. One of the above couples had: John, David, Matilda, and Harriet, my ancestor, b. 1835. Shortly thereafter the father, either Phillip or John, died. Nancy had her daughters appointed guardians. Matilda went with Adam Plank. The Planks intermarried with the Horns. Ah ha, you think, that means that Nancy HORN COLEMAN must be the mother I am seeking. Not so soon.... In 1850, Nancy PROUD COLEMAN, has been widowed and remarries this time to Henry BOWSER, another family name from Warren Co. In the 1850 Ohio Census in Perry Co, we find Nancy PROUD COLEMAN BOWSER with the four children listed above, namely my ancestor, Harriet. Are you still with me? I need to find someone who knows the name of Nancy HORN COLEMAN'S children. I need to know if Phillip and John were brothers as I suspect that they are. In a Bible insertion page written by an ancestor it was stated that my Nancy married Phillip COLEMAN, who had bros: Jacob, David, John and George. No father given. I have tracked the Colemans, Bowsers and Prouds out of PA. I do not know when the Horns came on the scene. If Nancy HORN is not my gr-gr-grandmother, I do not need to know. If she is my ancestor, then I need to get Nancy PROUD Coleman out of my line. Questions: Did Nancy HORN COLEMAN and Phillip have children? If so, who are they? Were Philip and John brothers? If so, who was their father? Are their any leads and/or help out there? Marjory A. Austen MAPPAusten@aol.com
