John Hill's will was admitted to Hamilton Co. OH probate on 22 Jul 1803 although Ohio became a State Mar. 1 of that year and that is the time Warren became a county, the will was filed in Hamilton Co). He names his son's Benjamin, Joseph deceased, Philip, & Samuel. I have a copy of the will from the court house, but haven't as yet attempted to transcribe it. There are parts that I cannot read. I too would like to know the names of Philip's descendants. In Hamilton Co. on 20 Apr 1836, Caleb Hill (b. 13 Mar 1813 d. 22 Feb 1882) married Barbara Booram(b. abt. 1815) d/o Jesse & Jane Booram. Abt. 1850 Caleb & wife Barbara moved to Logan Co. OH. There, shortly after the census was taken, Barbara must've died, for on 28 Oct 1851 Caleb married Nancy Hukill. I have been informed by Hukill researchers that his name in Logan Co., was also known as Philip Caleb Hill. As yet, I've been unable to track the original source of this statement or any additional information, but continue searching :-) Barbara Booram's sister Rebecca also married a Henry Hill 24 Dec 1840 in Hamilton Co. So far the relationship, if any between Caleb & Henry is unknown, yet Caleb's 1840 census in Symmes Twp. Hamilton Co. lists 2 males age 20-30, (one of which could be Henry) besides 1 female age 20-30 (Barbara) and 2 females age 0-5 (Margaret b. abt. 1837 and Rebecca b. abt 1838). I've found a Henry & Rebecca in Hardin Co. in 1850 just across the border from Logan where Caleb resided that appears to be the same, but I've reason to believe they returned to the Warren & Hamilton co. area by 1853 although I've found nothing more on them yet. The 1847 wall map of Hamilton Co. shows a P. Hill in section 13 near the Warren Co. border which is to the north. Section 13 is the most north eastern section in the county on the Little Miami River which is now part of the Hamilton Co. portion of Loveland. If indeed Caleb was also known as Philip Caleb, this may have been the land he owned. Since this information came to light recently, I've not yet had a chance to get to the Recorder's office to find the deed to know who P. Hill was. Hoping too that someone may have additional information to add. Linda Boorom > In the fall of 1800 Philip and Benjamin Hill of NC came to and settled in southern Hamilton Township; the latter where the old stone house now stands, 1/2 miles east of Loveland and near the Murdock Pike. The former settled farther east on the old Philip Hill Farm. > > I believe Philip and Benjamin HILL were the ancestors I'm looking for, but can't > seem to find any other information about them -- such as death dates, children, > burial place, etc.
