Hi, I'm still looking for the parents of Rebecca COX, whose marriage to Ira OSBORN on 22 Oct 1826 is recorded in the Warren County Records. Rebecca is buried in Second Creek Cemetery, near Blanchester in Clinton County; her gravestone indicates whe was born in 1809 and died in 1874. The census records indicate Rebecca was born in Ohio. Rebecca and Ira lived very close to the Warren-Clinton County lines; they are found in Salem Township, Warren County, in the 1850 Census; they are found thereafter in Marion Township, Clinton County, near their son and daughter in law, Eli & Eliza (Allen) OSBORN. I have a new lead that suggests that Rebecca may have been the daughter of Aaron COX, born 1781 in New Jersey, and Elizabeth (possibly HEMMINGER), born about 1790 also in New Jersey. This lead is promising for three reasons: Ira's parents (Joseph and Rosana Dorch OSBORN) migrated to Ohio from New Jersey; Aaron and Elizabeth COX were married in 1805 in New Jersey, so that is about the right time period to have been her parents; and Ira and Rebecca named their firstborn son Aaron. I am interested in any information that would prove the link (or disprove the link) between Aaron and Rebecca. In particular, I am interested in knowing where Aaron and Elizabeth might have lived in Warren and/or Clinton Counties. Also, where they died and were buried. Aaron and Elizabeth have two _known_ children; Edward and Sarah, both born in the early 1820s. Sarah married Issac TAYLOR in Warren County in 1846.
