    3. I've been trying for years to find information on my HILL family who lived in Hamilton Township of Warren Co. On microfilm, "History of Warren Co., OH" I found the following: In the fall of 1800 Philip and Benjamin Hill of NC came to and settled in southern Hamilton Township; the latter where the old stone house now stands, 1/2 miles east of Loveland and near the Murdock Pike. The former settled farther east on the old Philip Hill Farm. I believe Philip and Benjamin HILL were the ancestors I'm looking for, but can't seem to find any other information about them -- such as death dates, children, burial place, etc. As I am unable to travel to the Loveland, OH, area, any suggestions as to whom I might contact for information? Thanks for any and all suggestions. The County is growing so fast and so is the paper work. They can not keep up with it. They are in the process of microfilming to consolidate and save space in some County Dept. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rich Lowe <richlowe@web-iowa.com> To: <OHWARREN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 28, 2000 8:39 PM Subject: New County Building? > When I was in Warren Co. a year ago, I was told that the county was > putting up a new building that would house, among other things, the old > archives records for probate, marriage records, etc. > > When I was there, they were located in the basement of a modern building > in a county complex. > > Has this move taken place yet? 3. Completion was supposed to be 2 years. They are ahead of schedule, Maybe completed by next year, they are saying . It is going to be wonderful. all the records in one spot. No more running from building to building. One end of town to the other end. They are working on the interior already. 3. I did too! So glad someone got my message - have just about given up - get messages all the time but if I ever answer no body seems to ever answer. Glad I could help - I thought it a great place with tons of info. My famiy were Quakers in Waynesville and Ceasars Creek in the early 1800s. Stewarts and Clarks but have never been able to get any info off this site on them. Glad I could help. While I'm at it I'll name the rest - might ring a bell with someone. Rebecca Clark mar. Alexander Stewart 1807 Warren co., Ohio - looking for the following names from there - Harris, O'Neal, Rosenberry, Swayne, Vandervort, Darrow, Hornaday, and Alexander. Just thought I'd throw them all in for good luck! Pat marylou brown wrote: > > Thank you so much...I will enjoy the site and will dig through it carefully. > > marylou

    1. 1840 Census lookup
    2. Dave Pierson
    3. If anyone has an 1840 Warren Co. census, could you please do a lookup for me? I don't have access to an index, but I believe they would be located in Turtle Creek Township. I am looking for William Pierson and his wife, Nancy Crosley Pierson. They were married on Nov. 21, 1839, so it is possible that they may have lived with one or the others parents. They had not had any children in 1840. They should both be around 19-22 years of age. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 1. Re: 1820 Lookup
    2. Lynne Streich
    3. Rich - the following is what shows up for D. SEWELL on p 216B of the 1820 Warren County, Ohio census: In the D. SEWELL household: 1 male age to 10 1 male age 10-16 1 male age 26-45 4 females age to 10 (whew!) 1 female age 10-16 1 female age 26-45 I would "guesstimate" that Mr. and Mrs. Sewell were married approximately 17 years before enumeration, i.e., about 1803. Am I far off? Hope this helps you out. Lynne K. Haenke-Streich Rich Lowe wrote: > > If someone has access to the 1820 Federal Census on CD or otherwise, > could you please do a lookup for > > D. 3. Found an old article in the Middletown Journal dated 2 June 1963 "Shaker Count Going On in Warren Graveyards" In part it mentions the habit of taking in abandoned or unwanted children and teaching them Shakerism. It says that Shaker graves are still abundant near Lebanon. At the intersection of Rt. 63 and 741 is the most recent Shaker cemetery with mostly men buried there. Others women are buried in unmarked graves at Armco Association Park The graves were catalogued by the Warren County Historical Society with names and dates so that there will be a complete file of persons who died in the county. Hundreds of graves have been recorded and can be found in the museum on Broadway St.
