There were also no listings for Sherdine in "Ohio Towns and Townships to 1900: A Location Guide" by Julie Overton (Mansfield: Ohio Genealogical Society, 2000), nor were there any listings for Scherdine, Sheardine, or similar variants. There were, however, these listings: Sheridan, Greensburg Twp, Putnam County, a post office discontinued in 1892 at the village later called Cuba. Sheridan Coal Works in Lawrence County, a village and post office set up by 1900. Sheridans Landing in Perry Twp, Lawrence County, hamlet in the south part of the township, on the Ohio River; with the Coal Works post office set up by 1887.
