Back in MAY of this year - 2002 - Ancestry charged my credit card with another year of service [[ without my approval ]]. I did NOT request it . This is not a minor charge with the census cost also . I called the card company and requested it be on disput since I did NOT reorder the service . It has not been that beneficial for me to use their service . Update --> the charge still has NOT been taken off my charge . So just to let you newbies know - if they have youre credit card number they will keep charging you each year and will NOT refund if you dispute it ! Let the buyer beware when they have youre credit card number ........... I closed mine so they cant do it again --- sheri
I have had ancestry.com for years now (both subscriptions), and they always call before renewing my membership. I have had "no" trouble with them and find the site most helpful to me, and for those I can help. I do not understand what could have happened with your misfortune, but you should contact them, not just your credit card company. I am sure they will be glad to straighten it out for you. BTW - All states are now indexed and searchable by name, for the 1930 census.
