SHOT IN HAND Arch HERRON of Richland township, was shot in the left hand Monday morning while stapping a 22 revolver. His brother Ernest had taken down the gun and shot it, thinking that all the shells had been fired, he left it lying on the table. On entering the room Arch picked up the gun and upon examining it, thinking all the shells had been fired, but one had only snapped, and when he pulled the trigger the cartridge went off, the bullet entering the palm of his hand, shattering the bone and lodging under the tendon on top of the second finger. He was taken to Wellston where an X-ray examination was made and the bullet located and removed by Drs. COX and OGIER. NARROW ESCAPE The son of Ora MURRAY about twelve years of age, had a narrow escape from death Thursday, when with some other boys playing around the New York Coal Company mine at Oreton, and getting on a loaded car of coal that was undert the tipple, car started down grade, and ran into an empty that did not quite clear on another track, cornering it, the boy hanging on the side of the car and lbeing smaall managed to pass between the cars without being crushed to death, and all the unjuries he received was a bruised thigh, left breast and two bruises on the face. Dr. E. S. RAAYwas called from here to give medical attention.--Hamden Cor.
