    3. >From the McArthur Democrat-Enquirer, January 1, 1919 "CARPENTER (Delayed) Starling SMITH and wife spent the week end with Albany relatives. Worley JORDON of Cape Mae, J. J., is visiting his mother Mrs. Jane JORDON. Alva SISSON of Albany, spent a few days here recently. Don WOOD, who has been at Camp Sherman for several months has been discharged and returned to his home here a few days ago. Mrs. Ham MARTIN of Vinton county, is visiting Mrs. W. E. REEVES and other relatives. Born Dec. 18th, to John CARPENTER and wife, a daughter. Mrs. Everett STARKEY and Mrs. Harvey STEWARD who have been visiting the formers mother, Mrs. Mary STEWARD, have returned to their homes in Chillicothe. Mrs. Howard STEWARD is visiting relatives in Middleport. Howard HULL has returned to his home at Harrisonville after a weeks visit with his sister Mrs. Clara HARVEY. GILLESPIEVILLE (Delayed) The Flu is still quite thick in our neighborhood. Born, Dec. 20th, to Mrs. Jack FARMER, a son. The father is a soldier, and is in France. Mr. and Mrs. Howard DOWNS have been visiting with relatives in Harrison township this week. Galusha BRANSON and Tom DEARTH, sailors for Uncle Sam, have been spending a few days with home folks. Oscar OAKES is at home since being honorably discharged from Camp Sherman. HARRISON TOWNSHIP (Delayed) Mrs. May COZAD has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Sadie GRAVES. There was a Christmas dinner at Mr. M. H. REED and family, and Mrs. Mary REED, Mr. REED's mother, Mrs. Clarence PARK and family of Gilliespieville; Mr. and Mrs. Howard DOWNS of Chillicothe; Miss Mary REED of Chillicothe, Ohio; Mr. James REED of Chillicothe. Mr. M. H. REED received a letter from his son, Marion, which was wrote November 24, saying he was well."
