Hello Richard, My husband is a descendant of Elijah and Sarah thru their son Jesse. For some reason the marriage record that is on file at Vinton County was filed after the death of Elijah by his son Jesse. Elijah was born December 17, 1789 in Maryland and died Nov 6, 1864. He is buried in Weaver Cemetery in Brown Twp, Vinton County. Sarah was born May 2, 1797 in Ohio and died Nov 12, 1869. Children of Elijah and Sarah: 1. Jesse Jones, b 1816 in Ohio, married Verlinda Foreman. 2. Elizabeth Amanda Jones, b abt 1817, married Levi Foreman, March 24, 1836 3. Mary M Jones, b 1821 4. Jonathan Jones, b 1827 5. William Jones, b 1828 6. Leander Jones, b 1831 in Ohio, married Martha Ann Robinette, Jan 2, 1853 7. Elijah W Jones, b 1834 8. Sarah L Jones, b 1837, married Joseph Stanley Would love to exchange info with you. Right now my husband is investigating the Elijah Jones that appears on the war of 1812 Ohio roster which he thinks is his Elijah because he served with familar names such as Foreman.
