Thanks. > > Belling: On the wedding night, it was a custom for young folks to visit the place where the newlyweds were staying and bang pots and pans, ring bells and make noise. Supposedly there would be a celebation or party afterwards. Bill Morgan lost his arm below the elbow when an overloaded Musket exploded he had taken to a belling. He was praised for his ability to shovel coal afterwards. A mine employer asked him if he knew where he could get anymore one armed miners.
