Mary Virginia, the small daughter of Emmett STARKEY and wife who had the pneumonia is improving slowly. Jesse STEWARD of Charleston, W. Va. who has been visiting his mother Mrs. Lib STEWARD returned home Saturday. Mrs. O. W. CASTOR who has indigestion is slightly improved in health. Charley STEWARD is working on the local test farm. Mrs. Nathan MC COMAS is quite sick Walter WALKER, who has been in military service in France, arrived at Camp Sherman last Wednesday. Frank FARLEY one of our soldier boys has arrived home from Camp Jackson. Mrs. D. M. SISSON of Mt. Union visited Guy GORBY and wife the latter part of last week. Mrs. Howard STOUT has the mumps. John ARBAUGH is on the sick list. MRS. BERT MERRILL Mrs. Bert MERRILL of Wellston died at her home there Saturday February 1. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Isaac CLARK, and was born at Allensville. She is survived by her huband and four children, the oldest 16 and the youngest 5. The funeral and interment was at Londonderry last Wednesday. MRS. JOHN A. PITTENGER Mrs. John A. PITTENGER who died at Berlin January 26, was long a resident of Vinton county. Her brother Mike DUGAN lives in the Alice neighborhood, and her brother Hugh, and sisters Hattie and Leona DUGAN live at Puritan. DEATH OF MRS. SAUCER Mrs. SAUCER, an aged lady who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. C. N. ROSS of Zaleski, died there of the infirmities of old age on Monday of this week. We have not been informed as to the funeral arrangements. MINUS FANCY POCKETBOOK Miss Laura TRIPP attended a party in Richland township last Friday night. When she returned home she discovered she was minus her fancy pocketbook which contained $4.75 and money receipts of her family.--Route 2 Correspondent. COMMON PLEAS COURT The case of Angie SHARP vs. Charles SHARP has been withdrawn. The case of the State of Ohio vs. Levi SALTS is being tried today. Mr. and Mrs. Harley TUCKER of Allensville were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Phares WINTERS Sunday. NEW PLYMOUTH Mrs. S. W. MURPHY was in Lancaster Saturday. Those who attended the funeral of Sgt. Charles FINNEY from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. KENNARD, Mrs. PILCHER and Mrs. ARNOLD of McArthur, Miss Sylvia HARRIS of Columbus, (article cut off) (title omitted) LeRoy PILCHER and Dr. RUTHERFORD entertained a party of friends at the PILCHER residence Monday evening with stories of the great war. Among those present were: Dr. and Mrs. W. P. RUTHERFORD, Mr. and Mrs. Brooks JOHNSON, Miss Mildred MOORE, Miss Gladyse HOWELL and George HOWELL.
