I pass the grave of Richard Nixon's mother, Hannah, frequently. Only once have I seen flowers. They weren't even flowers, just pyracantha in an old coffee can from the Woman's Club of Whittier. Perhaps Quakers don't leave flowers at graves; I'd like to know. None of the Nixon graves ever have flowers. It's my understanding that the Nixon family moved to Indiana before California. Is that right? I share his family linage through my great-great Grandmother Elizabeth Nixon Stevens. Ed's father left Vinton County in the early years of the last century for Columbus, Ohio where he worked on the Street car lines. Later he moved to California where the future President was born.
