SOURCE: McArthur Democrat Enquirer Vinton County Newspaper October 15, 1930 Obituary "Mrs Allie Funk" "Allie O'Brien, daugher of James and Sarah Maria Hoffhine O'Brien, was born at Eagle Furnace, now Oreton, November 15, 1864 and died at her home in Columbus, October 8, 1930. Allie was left motherless at the age of six weeks, when she was taken in the home of her grandfather the late Voss Hoffhine and family who tenderly cared for her as their own child. She was united in marriage to Jerome Funk and to this union one son was born which died in infancy. Mr. Funk preceded her in death about ten years ago. Mrs Funk leaves a half brother; cousins Mrs C.W. Worley, Ruth, and Edna Hoffhine all of Columbus. Also an uncle Abram Hoffhine of Elk Township. Services were held at McNamara Funeral Home 24 East Third Avenue, at 7:30 om Friday. The body was brought to Hamden by McNamara Saturday and placed beside her husband.
