SOURCE: Vinton County Newspaper McArthur Democrat Enquirer May 16, 1907 "Mr Arthur Camp, who has resided near here for half a century, died on heart failure on Tuesday. Burial in the Tarr Farm Cemetery. Mr Camp was about seventy five years old. He had a friendly disposition which won the friendship of all who knew him. Dundas Cor. (Dundas Correspondent) OBITUARY The deceased , Arthur Camp was born in Cambridge, Guernsey County, June 26, 1832 and died at his home near Oreton. May 7, 1907. Aged 74 years 10 months and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Arminda A Tarr on February 2, 1854. To this union was born eleven children; Esther A Snedecor, Rachel E Gottke A. Dennis G. Thomas William R J. Lanson Silas H. Delia M Barnes Orson C. Joseph F. Edward E. One of whom, Rachel, preceded him to the spirit world. The deceased was a member of the United Brethren Church, he was a kind husband, and father, a good neighbor and leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his loss, but our loss is his eternal gain. Dearest father, thou has left us, The dear face no more we'll see But in heaven we hope to meet thee, Where no more said partings be. A precious one from us has gone His voice is stilled A place is vacant in our home Which never can be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled The friend he to us has given And though the body slumbers here The soul is safe in heaven.
