    3. Dear Vinton County Researchers As you may have noticed the series of obituary postings from me...I have asked Mr. Weeese ( our list and web master) for Vinton county if I might post obituaries for Vinton county. I had previously only posted ones from the 1800s as I did not want to infringe on copyright stuff etc...Here is his reply! "I don't care if you post some obituaries and I doubt if any newspapers would care if you post 40 year old or more obits. After all, how could you possibly be hurting the paper (many of which are out of business now)? At any rate, all possible copyrights have expired for anything before about 1930, so there is no problem before that. " So with that in mind..I have started going through my FTM file index and looking at the death date..and if I have an obit I have been posting it to the Vinton county list...I have done some A's beforehand but all pre 1900 so I will do that...Is there anyone who would be intersted in doing the same? We could help each other more..even though these death notices and obits are considered secondary sources..it gives some things a starting point. Perhaps Mr. Weese ( if he would be willing) could perhaps create a section in the Vinton county Genweb site for obituaries to be saved from the mail list for future reference..I believe our emails to the Vinton county list are archived at Rootsweb (Thank you folks!) but this would be much easier to look up.. Any thoughts? Sincerely Randy Sue Page McKeever Researching Page, McKeever, Salts, Hoffhine, Gates, Graham, Cassills, Warners and many more.. 3. Randy Sue: Love this, it will be sooooo helpful, I thank you. I am researching the Richard & Saddie Bolar family and Thacker family, beginning with Thomas B and his wife Nancy Ann, my gg-grandparents. I have many family members from that area beginning in the 1820-30's. I have found in one book a major error, they have a gg-uncle listed as a woman, not knowing that Pascal Vaughn (Nancy Anns's brother) is not a woman. I love each family hsitory discovery and feel even closer to my Vinton County family and respective home each time. I have never lived there but I have been there as a small child, I look forward to a return trip now as an adult seeking to know my family from the past.
