    3. >From the McArthur Democrat-Enquirer, January 29, 1919 "MRS. LYDIA SWAIM Mrs. Lydia Reynolds SWAIM died at her home in Elk Fork last Wednesday evening, at the age of 87. She was the widow of Hiram H. SWAIM who died 30 years ago, and a sister of the late Henry REYNOLDS who was probably the oldest man in the county at the time of his deat. Three children survive her: Walter SWAIM of McArthur; Mrs. Cora BOSSEMEYER living in the west, and Mrs. Dora ALBRIGHT, who has been living at home with her mother. She also left six grandchildren, and five great grand-children. Scott SWAIM who died on the 11th of this month at Danbury, Connecticut, was a grandson of the deceased lady. The funeral services were on Friday at 12:30 at the residence, Elder A. B. KIRKENDALL officiating. Burial at Elk cemetery, McArthur. HOMER JOHNSON DEAD The FULLER family, in Brown Township, received the sad news, last week, that their brother-in-law, Homer JOHNSON had died in Cherubusco, Indiana, on January 21, after only four hours sickness from apoplexy, at the age of 46. Mr. JOHNSON was the son of the late Samuel JOHNSON and grew to manhood in Mt. Pleasant. His wife was Miss Rhoda FULLER of Brown Township and the daughter of the late L. D. FULLER. He leaves to mourn, his widow and one daughter, Arline, who is near 14 years of age. One son preceded him in death. Burial took place in Illinois, the former home of the deceased. Vinton County friends tender their sincere sympathy to those left to mourn. MRS. ELIZABETH KYSER After several years of feeble health, Mrs. Elizabeth KYSER, aged 84, died last Wednesday morning at the residence of her son Elmer, where she had been making her home for a number of years. Her name before marriage was Elizabeth BROWN, and she was a sister of Charles BROWN, a well known citizen of McArthur. Four daughters and one son survive her: Mrs. Mary CONNOR of Glouster, Mrs. Rena ZIMMERMAN, and Mrs. Dora SNIDER of Columbus; Mrs. Ella SLACK of Springfield, and Elmer KYSER of McArthur. The funeral was at the residence, Rev. R. E. STEVENS officiating. Burial at Elk Cemetery. NELLIE WOODS Miss Nellie WOODS, aged about 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rans WOODS, died at the home of her parents in Zaleski, last Thursday of Influenza. The funeral was on Saturday, burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Besides her parents, she is survived by three brothers; Walter, married and living in Zaleski, and William about 18 years old, at home. Another brother, Ira is in the army overseas. Her sister, Mrs. Goldie WOODS HUTCHINSON died only about three weeks ago. She was a very aimable young girl and her death will be regretted among a large circle of friends. MRS. JOSEPHINE KRUGER Mrs. Josephine GRUGER, aged about 56, died of heart trouble on Tuesday of last week, at the home of her brother John Kruger near Allensville. Her name before marriage was Josephine KRUGER, and besides her brother John, with whom she lived, four other brothers survive her: Lewis, and Charles of Richland township; Ed. living in Fayette county, and George who is a prosperous farmer living neard Peoria, Illinoois. The burial was at Mount Ollive cemetery, Rev. R. E. STEVENS and Rev. HOSKINSON officiating."
