    2. Carolyn Kelly of Indiana: It appears that Andrew Burns served in the same unit as my Great Grandfather, James McCafferty. However, he did serve with the 7th Ohio Volunteer Calvary. Have you determined that your Andrew Burns served with the 7th? I recall some years ago visiting the excellent Ohio Museum in Columbus and I found my grandfather's name in some of the books about the 7th Calvary. It might be concidence, but they may have served in the same company. Trying to reconstruct what the units did during the Civil War is a big task, but it can be done. Just have to do lots of digging.
