    1. Re: OHVINTON-D Digest V04 #97
    2. Message for Carolyn: VO4 # 97 Check if your civil war soldier was in the 7th Calvary. My James McCafferty was in Co. G. He is buried in Ratcliff Cemetery along with his wife, Melissa Sharp McCafferty. I found his name in a book about the civil war at the Ohio Historical Museum in Columbus, OH. This was several years ago. Also if your soldier was a member of the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) you could look for records which might be in Vinton, County , hopefully the library. One of these men are presumed to be the father of Gabriel Burns (1853-1929), my great-great grandfather. All are buried at Hamden, although Gabriel does not have a tombstone. Does anyone have any info on these families or suggestions of where I need to search next? Your assistance would be a great help. Thank you. That family is from around the=20 Greenville area in Ohio. I think there is a pic at the Annie Oakly Museum= or=20 (is it called Garst Museum). A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. - William Shedd >From: Burnsgenealogy1@aol.com >Reply-To: OHVINTON-L@rootsweb.com >To: OHVINTON-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [OHVINTON-L] re: Andrew Burns Civil War >Date: Mon, 9 Aug 2004 14:27:39 EDT > >Looking to clarify : >1) Andrew W Burns Died Feb 1, 1904 tombstone info: >Co G Ohio Calvary Civil War > >2) Andrew Burns Born Nov 13, 1831 Died June 26, 1889 >58 yr 7 mon 110 d Civil War > >This info from Hamden Cemetery. > >One of these men are presumed to be the father of Gabriel Burns=20 >(1853-1929), >my great-great grandfather.
