SOURCE: Vinton County Newspaper McArthur Democrat Enquirer JAnuary 21, 1897 "Henry Johnson , an old and respected citizen of Madison Township, died of lung fever at his home in Zaleski, on Wednesday morning January 20, 1897 aged 80 years. Mr. Johnson was born near what is now McArthur Junction on April 25, 1817 and has been a resident of the county ever since. In 1838 he married Miss Jemima Bobo, who survives him. They raised a large family of children, ten boys and two girls, all of whom are living. At the time of his death, he was a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist church of Zaleski. The funeral services were held on Friday, conducted by Elder J. T. Bridwell of Middleport, at the McArthur Christian Church, after which the remains were buried in the new cemetery."
