Dear List Members, It is so good to see the activity stirring on the list! I did some checking in the archives of this list and noted that in a past posting Mr. Weese ( our kind webmaster) stated we had about 203 members on this list. Wouldn't it be great if everyone posted just 1 of their obits once a week or even once a month to allow discussion to occur? I don't know if there needs to be any restrictions in regards to dates to keep from causing a copyright infringement but I would think we could be safe with prior to 1905 perhaps? Please be sure to post your source with your obit, so that others can check too. So please, everyone consider posting 1 oibt to keep this list lively! Sincerely Randy Sue PS I just started going through my database and looked for death dates prior to..and that's why they were pretty much alphabetical order

From the Republican Tribune, December 20, 1894 Obituary. Died, at her home in Harrison Township, Vinton county, on Thursday, November 23, 1894, at 2 o'clock p.m. Mrs. Mary Boblitt, wife of Eli Boblitt, nearing her eightieth year. Mrs. Boblitt was stricken with paralysis some two weeks ago from which her death resulted. She was a Christian in all her ways, although not professing. Mrs. Boblitt was German descent, her parents were pioneers of Vinton county. A very hard working woman, yet always finding time to administer to the wants of others, grandmother made friends among both old and young, and will ever live in our memory although her form has faded in this world, it will live in a much brighter sphere. Mrs. Boblitt was the mother of seven girls and six boys, one of the six boys being dead. The children all scattered over the Central States; those who were in attendance at the interment, which took place at the Boblitt cemetry (sic), were: Mrs, P. J. Huffman, Mrs. Bottinghouse, Mrs. Brewer, Michael, John and Wilson Boblitt. Our sympathy is with the bereaved family, especially to the husband and father. Dear grandfather, you will meet grandmother in the sweet beyond. "There the weary are at rest and the mourner looks up and is glad." A Friend. _________________ -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 265.7.4 - Release Date: 1/25/2005
