    3. SOURCE: The Athens County, Ohio Newspaper The Athens Messenger May 24, 1919 "John P. Bobo Aged Farmer Ends His Life with Shotgun" "John P. Bobo of near Zaleski suicided last evening while hunting. Albyn MAy 24, 1919. John P. Bobo aged about 66 years, well to do resident of Zaleski neighborhood ended his life about dusk last evening in the woods near the home of his son and daughter in law Mr and Mrs Willie West, in Vinton County. Mr Bobo was a widower and leaves the following children: Mrs West, Cyrus and Earl of Columbus, Mrs Rilla Graft, Mrs Hepple Cross and Foster Bobo of Logan. Mrs Bobo died about a yaqr ago and only a few days ago a brother died. He had been living with his sister of late. His last years were mainly spent in Logan where he had property. He had also owned property in Athens. He was a hard working man and a highly respected citizen. Recently he had sold all of his property. It is believed that Mr Bobo ended his life thru despondency over the recent deaths in his family. Yesterday evening after working as usual during the day on the West farm, took a shotgun and went into the woods to kill some squirrels. When he did not return at supper, his son in law started out and found the dead body. Mr Bobo had removed his coat and vest, placed the muzzle of the gun against his breast and pulled the trigger. Death was instantaneous."
