SOURCE: Republican Tribune Newspaper McArthur Vinton County Ohio Obituary Wednesday May 22, 1940 "PROMINENT VINTON COUNTY MAN DIES AT HOME IN HAMDEN" Lawrence Bobo, aged 29 years died at the home of his parents in Hamden, Monday noon after spending the forenoon in McArthur. Mr Bobo was a candidate for the office of County Treasurer at the Primary Election help May 14th and came out second in the race. Lawrence as he was known to his many friends, was fine young man and well liked whereever he was known. He was a sober and industrious fellow. At the time of his death, he was Clerk of Clinton Township and also Deputy Registrar. He was a graduate of Hamden High School where he was prominent in athletics, was a member of the Hamden Methodist Church and the Eagles Lodge. He was born at Point Rock in Meigs County the son of Mr and Mrs V. C Bobo with whom he made his home and had lived in Hamden since he was 12 years of age. He was in an auto accident about 5 years ago and was critically injured which injuy likely caused his death. Surviving besides his parents are three brothers John, Frank and Luther all of Dayton and one sister Mrs Joe Strong of Wilkesville. The funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00pm at the Methodist Church in Hamden in charge of Rev. R.S. Daniel. Burial will be in the Hamden Cemetery by Joseph Strong of Wilkesville."
