SOURCE: The Wellston Telegram Newspaper Friday May 3, 1946 "Dan McKeever is Buried on Monday in McArthur Plot" Dan McKeever born in Berlin and for many years a prominent citizen of McArthur, died in a rest home in Columbus last Friday, April 26. He was 82 years and 1 month old to the day. Mr McKeever was an uncle of Preston McKeever of Wellston, Mrs Jennie Meadows of McArthur and Ed Shields, who still calls Wellston his home. Surviving him are four grandchildren, sons of a deceased son, Dan McKeever Jr. who died about 10 years ago in Columbus. Dan McKeever was born March 26, 1854 of Berlin Cross Roads, a son of Dan and Phoebe Kincaid McKeever. His father was known as "Judge " McKeever and was prominent citizen of Milton Township after the Civil War. Dan McKeever married Kate Dempsey, a daughter of Samuel Dempsey of Berlin and they settled at McArthur until about 30 years ago when he located at Columbus and operated a cafe there on Rich Street. He was a director of Clark Grave Vault Company at Columbus and left a considerable estate. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and burial was in the Elk Cemetery at McArthur."
