SOURCE: Vinton County, Ohio Newspaper McArthur Democrat Enquirer November 8, 1906 "Charles W. Timms, an honorable citizen and brave soldier, died November 4, at his home in Dundas, aged 66 years, 10 months and 15 days. He was born in West Virginia and served three years as corporal of Company F of the 11th West Virginia Infantry, being at Cedar Creek and many other battles. He has been a resident of Dunas for 41 years. He was married to Charlote E. Dowd in 1877. He leaves a widow, two sons and a daughter, brotehr and sister and a host of relatives and friends, sincere mourners of his departure. Funeral services tood place at the home on November 6th conducted by Dr. Taylor. Old comrades carried him to his grave in Elk Cemetery. A very large concourse of people attended the services.
