SOURCE: Newspaper OBITUARY McArthur Democratic Enquirer February 19, 1919 "William Salts, son of Thomas Salts and wife, was born September 3, 1828 and departed this life January 17, 1919, aged 90 years, 4 months and 14 days. He was married to Susan Arbaugh in the year of 1853 and to this union was eleven children were born. His wife and five children having proceded him to the Spirit Land. Those left to mourn the loss of father are: Mrs Lizzie Dixon, John Salts of Chillicothe, Mrs T.L. Miller of Clarimont, Virigina, Mrs G. W. Miller of Chillicothe, and Marion Salts of Oklahoma and Mrs. E. D. Font of Gilliespieville; twenty nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He united with the Bible Christian Church at Pine Grove about thirty years ago and lived a humble consistent Christian life until God called him higher. During his last sickness he never murmured or complained, but bore all his suffering with great patience, and told his loved ones that he was ready to go. He was a kind husband and loving father and respected by all who knew him. For he made friends with all whom he chanced to meet. "Then be content dear heart God plans like lillies pure and white unfold; And if through patient toil we reach that land Where tired feet with sandals loosed may rest, Where we shall clearly see and understand.
