SOURCE: Vinton County Newspaper McArthur Democrat Enquirer March 11, 1905 "Oren Salts Dead" "Oren Salts, aged about forty years, died very suddenly at the home of his mother Mrs Ivy Salts, at Dundas last Sunday night. Mr Salts had his leg amputated on February 17th and was thought to be improving nicely, when he took suddenly worse and died in a short time. His death was no doubt caused by a blood clot on the brain. His funeral will be held this (Wednsday) afternoon and the remains interred in the Hixon cemetery. Funeral director Pete Gaskill will have charge of the remains."
