SOURCE: Vinton County Newspaper Vinton County Republican Newspaper dated October 13, 1904 "IN MEMORIAM" "Jeremiah Robinette" "Jeremiah Robinette was born February 10, 1824 and died at his home in McArthur October 6, 1904 aged 80 years, 7 months and 27 days. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Mace, September 15, 1848. To this union were born nine children, six of whom have preceded their father to the better world. There yet remains to mourn their loss his faithful wife, one brother Henry Robinett, one sister Mrs Elizabeth Sowder, and three children Mrs Sarah E. Pinney, Amos Robinett and William Henry Robinett. These together with his grandchildren to whom he was both father and grandfather, deeply feel their loss. To his county he rendered service during the Civil War, being a member of the 77th Regiment O.V.I. Years ago he united with the Christian Church and remained faithful until death. He was a great sufferer and prayed for relief in death, expressing his willingness to depart and be with Christ. His only thought of earth was his anxiety for the care of his wife, who was his constant companion for fifty three years. Mr. Robinett was a faithful husband, father a good citizen and neighbor. His life was quiet and unassuming, yet filled with deeds of love and kindness to all."
