I have talked to my local newspaper because I do post a lot of obits, the concern of legal copyright. They told me that they are copyrighted. That if I post the name of the newspaper, etc., they would be okay with that, they have seen folks posting obits, and they would rather spend their money on lawsuits for articles being published without their permission.
