    3. ************************************************************************************************************** SOURCE: Vinton County Newspaper REpublican Tribune July 25, 1928 OBITUARY John Albert son of Ephraim and Jane Strausbaugh was born near Wilkesville, Ohio July 27 1863. He was married to Viola Elizabeth Weyand on November 4, 1893. To this union four children were born. Mabel Ann Wood, Martha Marie Steffen, Henry Ray Strausbaugh and Gladys May Strausbaugh all living in Wilkesville. He leaves seven grandchildren, one sister Martha McLauglin and one half brother Clarence Strausbaugh. Besides these he leaves a host of relatives, and friends. He was a lifelong member of the Wilkesville Presbyterian church having united with that church at the age of ten, March 21, 1874 by Pastor Warren Taylor. He was a charter member of the K of P Lodge of Wilkesville. He was a loving husband and indulgent father and a kind neighbor. Quiet and assuming he slipped away from those who love him on July 14, 1928. "No no! Not dead, just laid away from sight, To slumber undisturbed through one long night. Instead of many brief ones such as fall. In swift recurrence o'er us one and If thou art glad to lay thy weary head. Upon the pillow of thy nightly bed, And lose thyself in slumber, wherefore weep, When loved ones rest in nature's dreamless sleep, Since now we wake when night has passed away, In the likeness of the former day May we not hope to see them face to face ' Who in the church yard have their resting place? Believe in Master; o'er and o'er he said- "Why weepest thou? Only asleep- not dead-not dead."
