    3. Hello—I am looking for any info on Phebe/Phoebe Eubanks Walter and her husband. Phebe is a sister to one of my Jackson Co., OH great grandmothers, Eunice Eubanks Baker. Phebe was born in Jackson Co., OH in Oct., 1864, the daughter of Joseph Eubanks (1789-1878) and his second wife, Elizabeth Melton Eubanks (abt. 1828-1886). Dabner/Abner/Dabney/Dabiney was born in VA (now WV?), possibly in Oct., 1831-1834. He may be the Dabney Walters listed in the early Virginia marriages as having wed a Sarah Ripley (who died in 1853) in Monroe Co., VA on 1 June, 1850. I know nothing about his ancestry. My family legend says that Phoebe Eubanks married an Abner Walters. I don’t know where they were married. Recently I found her name spelled Phebe in the 1880 Gallia Co., OH census. Then when I used that name spelling, I located a Phebe (b. Oct., 1864, OH) and Dabner (b. Oct., 1831, WVA) Walters and daughter Ethel (b. June, 1899, WVA) in the 1900 Carroll District, Lincoln Co., WV census (dwelling # 32/2/2). They had been married 16 years and Ethel was the mother of 2, with one child living. Dabner was listed as a farmer and the family was renting their farm. Only one other Walter family was found living in that same district (dwelling # 283/283) in the 1900 census and consisted of parents John (b. 1856, OH) and Phoeba (b. 1874, OH) and their 7 children ranging from age 2 mos. to 12 yrs, all b. in OH. They were not found in the 1910 Lincoln Co., WV census. The 1880 Harrison Twp., Vinton Co., OH census shows in household # 41/42, a Dabney Walters, age 46, b. E. VA and a farmer, his wife Mary J., age 30, b. WV, and children John R. (age 10, b. OH), Alice (age 7, b. OH), Charley (age 3, b. OH) and Cora F. (age 1, b. OH). In household # 45/46 were Wilbur Walters (age 23, b. E. VA), his wife Mary (age 19, b. OH) and son Ernst (age 1, b. OH). Phebe Eubanks Walter may have passed on after the 1900 census and before the 1910 census. Dabiney and Ethel Walters are found in the 1910 Columbus city 4th ward, Franklin Co., OH census. Dabiney, age 77, is listed as a grandfather living in household 539/229/239 with Charlie Carper (age 22, b. OH) and the latter’s wife Margaret (age 18, b. OH). Ethel is listed ass being age 10 in household 1158/82/84. She is listed as an aunt. The head is Clyde B. Casper (age 24, b. OH), the wife is listed as Myrtle (age 23, b. Canada), their child is Edith (age 9 mos., b. OH); also living in the home is a brother-in-law, Perry Helm (age 32, b. OH). I was unable to locate Dabiney and Ethel in the 1920 census. He may have passed on and she may have married. Would appreciate any info/input and am willing to share info. Have included all this info with the hope that it will help someone aid me in connecting the dots. Thank you. Lois Dye
