It's me again. the 1850 census says that Almeda was born in OH and on the 1900 census for Ason, it says his mother was born in OH. I don't know if that helps and the census is not always correct. I don't find the Crowells at all on the 1860 census. Margie

Trying to determine the parents of Almeda, b. 1828 in "WV," d. 1868 in Wilkesville, Vinton Co., OH. She married abt. 1843 Albert Crowell, son of Benjamin Crowell and Nancy VanZant. I believe Almeda died during, or shortly after, the birth of their son Ulysses. Other children were Julia, Mary J., William, Lucina, Frank, Ason L. and Albert Jr. The Crowells lived in both Meigs and Vinton counties.
