SOURCE: Obituary From McArthur Democrat Enquirer August 2, 1888 "Obituary" "Again the Death Angel visited our neighborhood, and it becomes our sad duty to follow him in his mysterious flight and chronicle his wonderful workings as they are presented upon the grave side of life's huge mirror. For a number of months Mr. Anthony Cassill has been an invalid, and a greater part of the time was confined to his room. At times he seemed to rally, and then grow worse. But for the last month was very low and it was apparent that death was not far away, and at 11 o'clock on last Friday, July 20th, 1888, surrounded by sorrowing family and friends, his spirit took its everlasting flight. The deceased was born July 9th 1826 and at the time of his demise, was 62 years and 11 days old. Mr. Cassill was married May 25th 1849 to Miss Mary Ann Ratcliff. To whom were born six children, four of whom survive their father, two having died in infancy. Mrs.Cassill died April 22, 1860. His second marriageoccured December 27, 1860 to Miss Mary L. Martindill, to them was born two children, one of whom survives her father. The subject of this sketch was baptized into the Disciple Church many years ago, and lived a consisted member until death. He lived to see six of his children grow to maturity, and the five who survive him, with their mother are all honored members of the same church. The writer of this brief sketch often visited him during his illness, and had the pleasure of conversing with him on many subjects. He was aware that the end was near and expressed himself as being ready to go. His great suffering was borne with heroic fortitude, withour murmur or complaint. The wife and children did all tthat could be done to alleviate his suffering, both by careful attention and the employment of the best medical skill the country affords, but all to no avail. Some weeks before his death he made all the arrangements for his funeral. The services were held at Union Church, near his home on Saturday, Elder A.J. Watt officiating. After the services at the church the long cortege moved off to the family cemetery known as the Cassill Cemetery, where t he remains were interred in the prison home of the dead. Of strong will power, he was alike firm in his friendships and dislikes but courteous to all alike. He was an exemplary husband and father, a kind neighbor and a good citizen. The popularity and esteem in which he was held throughout the community was evidenced by hundreds of inquiries daily concerning his condition during his illness, the numerous expressions of sorrow and sympathy when his death was known, and the immense concourse that followed his remains to the grave. The sorrowing ones left behind - wife and children, have the sympathy of the whole community, in this their sad bereavment for Mr. Casssill will not only be missed by them but by his neighbors, the church and the whole community.

Jacobs was born in Allen County, Ohio on March 20th 1848 departed this life January 16th, 1908 aged 59 years, 10months and 27 days. She was married to Thomas Wren Bobo April 15th, 1864. To this union were born five children all of whom are living. After four years of widowhood she was married to J.T. Foreman on March 17th, 1896. For the past two years, she had been a constant sufferer from kidney trouble, although able to be about most of the time. About two weeks before her death was stricken with la grippe, which in her weakened condition , she was unable to withstand. She had been a faithful member of the Christian church, having joined that denomination something like 25 years ago. While unable, through ill health to attend church regularly, she lived her religion in her home and with all whom she could in any way help. She leaves to mourn her departure, a husband and five children, three step children, and numerous other relatives. She was one of the best and most devoted of wives and mothers that God ever blest a family with, always thinking of the comfort and welfare of others before herself, always kind and helpful to all her neighbors. Whenever there was sickness she was always one of the first to offer help, seeming to understand the passage of the scripture, "Who are our neigbors- all to whom we may do good" to the full extent. Although gone from us, her memory will never die and the dear name of mother we will always cherish, and try to live the life she would have us live, so that when our time shall have come to pass to the great beyond, we can meet her where all heartaches and partings are no more."
SOURCE: Newspaper Obituary Republican Tribune, Vinton County Newspaper February 9, 1921 Lovina Bobo, daughter of Francis Marion Bobo and Sarah Ann Caster Bobo, was born in Columbia Township, Meigs county, Ohio on June 18, 1867 and died by falling in a spring near her home January 28, 1921. She was the oldest of 7 children all the rest of whom survive her. Leonard of Ewington, Ohio, Vincent of Point Rock, Ohio, Nancy Margaret, wife of John Boatman of Kyger, Alice wife of George VanZant of Kyger and Viola, the trained nurse who has been at home caring for her sister. Her mother passed over before her in November 1902. Her father still lives. Besides these she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn their loss. With the exception of a year that she taught school in Vinton County, practically all her life was spent in her old home, keeping the home for her father. She was of a sensitive, retiring disposition, even timid with strangers, yet a pleasant companion to visit, be with and receive calls from her circle of friends. For many years she had not been well but the sick headaches did not sour her warm and sympathetic nature, one whom to know was to love. Loving with a love intense, her friends loved her in this manner. She was one of those rare souls to whom a friend was a brother or a sister. Two years ago she accepted the love of Christ, and great was her joy. But God had given her as a part of her nature, His great spirit of self sacrifice. It was of the others she though, for the others that she lived. One of her greatest fears was lest she should become helpless and a burden to others, when it was her joy to be a help. "Whosoever would be first amoung you shall be servant to all. For the Son of Man also came not to be ministered unto but to minister and give his life a ransom for many." Mark 10:44.45 CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank all our friends and neigbors for your kindness, sympathy and help in this time of trouble. The Bobo Family.
