Dorothy, Here is the URL to the Millfield Coal Mine Disaster news article: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohathens/coalminedisasters.htm I don't see a Perry on the list but there is a Paul Ervin who was killed. My ancestor Roy Andrews was killed in that explosion also. -----Original Message----- From: Elsie Rarey [mailto:rarey@fairfieldi.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2005 1:34 PM To: OHVINTON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OHVINTON-L] 1930-Millfield Mine Disaster-Athens,Ohio Dorothy -- have you looked on AThens County List for something about Millfield. Greetings to our BRITNELL cousins in Ohio. In January of 2004 I started to send out census packages around the world so that I could establish how many individuals were using this name. My research in the previous fifteen years had indicated to me that there were about 4000 using the name globally. With those very low numbers I have become concerned that this name is in demise. For those who did not receive a census package please email me here to register-->mary.anne@shaw.ca OR: write to me at 35 Deerpoint Road, SE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, T2J 6R3 I hope to have the census completed by March of 2005 Mary Anne Britnell

Hi Bob, Daniel Freeman and Mahala are in the 1850 census of Manchester, Morgan, Ohio, Page 35. Daniel was 80 years old and born in NJ. Mahala was 46 and born in VA, John was 14 and born in OH and George was 12 and born in OH. I had been researching some Freemans in Vinton County. But, Daniel and Mahala are not part of the families I was studying. I just remember them from having researched them awhile back. There is a McGee Cem in Vinton Co, in Eagle twp. The OGS cemetery book gives these directions: In section 23; From SR 327 go east on CR 17 to CR 16, then south to Twp Rd 20, turn west to the top of the hill and cem is on the N side. I have several people buried there, none of whom have tombstones, unfortunately. I hope you have better luck!
