    2. Lorrie, I think you've done yeoman duty apologizing for something you didn't have to apologize for.... most of us use multiple listings if we have surnames that apply to several counties. God bless the administrators who run them and understand; if it weren't for volunteers, we'd never be able to research long distance! Kathleen Manley

    1. [OHVINTON-L] Thank You
    2. Lorrie A. Smith
    3. To all that sent encouraging responses, I wanted to thank you, I have tried to reply to everyone, but it is now becoming to over whelming to answer everybody back. I can understand how these list administrators that have several counties to do, feel. I have several leads and on my other lines and many many awesome folks who have offered to help. I have been researching for just a little under a year now, and have found many people and information. I have made many contacts and feel that I can help others with what I have. I have researched all that I can on my Heckman family until I receive proof from St. Augustine's church in Minster, Ohio as to who my Clemens's parents are, I am stuck. Right now he is an only child, and that is hard to believe. Through marriage, baptismal, probate and land contracts, and cemetery records WE KNOW HE EXISTS!! Ha ha To all of those people that receive a couple of hundred emails a week, I understand, I am in the same boat. It was a one time shot and proved in my mind successful. Happy Hunting Thanks, Lorrie Heckman Smith [email protected] May God be between thee and harm, in all the empty places you must walk. 3. My apologies to all of those that had repeats of this same message. Because my folks are spread out all over the country, I felt it was necessary to connect with all of the counties of Ohio. I did not understand that I would get such unfriendly mail from some people. Some of them were helpful. After reviewing the Acceptable policy use at rootsweb, I did not see anything about mass mailings. If one exists would you please direct me to that? Because of my limited access to information, the Internet is all I have. I am not able to get to many locations people have suggested. 2. You may wish to examine the owners of Wolf/Rannells property just west of McArthur as it was in 1875. Portions encluded the old lakes used as a water and ice source at that time. Located there also is a place still called Wolf Hill. Are you by chance related to the Pyatt family of Vinton County or those who built Piatts Castle in northern Ohio?

    3. Sue, I read your reply to Connie. You most certainly must be part of Connie's and my ancestral families from the surnames you list at the bottom of your message - McAboy, Higley, Case & Everton. They were all neighbors and connected with the Phelps family. The McAboy married a Stevens. I'll have to dig into my notes for exact relationships.
